Chasing Childhood Ghosts

Sounds like a great day, albeit chilly - man, did you all freeze, or what?

Anyway, get off your computer and get in that car and head up here. And bring some good vino too ;-).

(I do have a large bottle of Little Penguin Cab Sauv to share, but it is always fun to see what you bring. Oh, and Steve may want to bring something he likes too, though we do happen to have a SLEW of diet pepsi.)

Kiss my butt.! I'll be there when I said I'll be there. ;-) Love ya!
Those are great pictures. We love graveyards. When we are traveling and come across one, we'll usually drop in and take pictures. Jamie enjoys them more than I do I think - because if I saw a statue open it's eyes and look at me, I'd be waiting in the car in a flash.

i love scouting out urban decay sites for photography and portrait sessions (like glenn dale mansion near bowie)... a great place to research for dying buildings is through ghost stories. Check out marylandghosts.com you have to register with the site but it is WELL worth registering. They have a lot of information on Aggie and Grief that i just read through. I'd never heard of them, I'm going to have to go visit now! Very rich history behind them...
What a GREAT way to spend an afternoon. Like DeWitte said, I love grave yards. When I was pregnant with Nathan I spent hours and hours in grave yards looking at names. I wanted an old name for him.

I love the statues in old cemeteries and I did a photographic series on crypt doors once.Lucky for me old cemeteries are a dime a dozen down here, as I'm sure that they are there.

I wish we lived close enough to DC to make it a day trip. Lucky.

This is really great. I love this post. One of my favorite things to do of all time is to visit cemeteries and look at the beautiful statues. I can't wait to visit the famous cemeteries in London and Paris someday.

Wow! I remember the childhood Black Aggie stories, and I never knew quite what they were all about. I was terrified of them! Thanks for sharing this!
These are really fantastic pictures! And sounds like you two had a wonderful day out, tracking down your childhood legends. Cheers!
