No having ever tried oysters, I can't say for sure, but my original thought is that anything that you swallow whole (isn't that how you eat them?) is gag-worthy. I've been wrong before, though. :)
Uh, yeah - I wonder how people go to Oyster roasts sometimes. My brother ordered some raw once at a family function and everyone looked at him like he was nuts. Then you see the story on 60 minutes where the guy eats one and goes into a coma for 7 years. Nice!
