That is SO Baltimore -- when I was in college, we use-ta go down to the Inner Harbor (before the transformation was completed) to this dive seafood place (that was awesome) and there were formica tables and waitresses in hairnets that would always say, "Hey Hon, whattayouwant?" -- Often, I'd say something like "I'd like the soft-shelled crab" and she'd say "Nah -- get somethin' else, its no good today..." -- now THAT'S service!
