Whirlwind Weekend
I don't think we could've jammed more into the past weekend if we wanted. It was just so busy busy, nonstop. I think I need a day of rest, but that just wasn't happening.
I had to run and do my big grocery shop today. I usually do that every other Friday, but Steve was off and we had to go hunt down Black Aggie. The cupboards were practically bare and the kids like to be fed on a regular basis, so it was off to all my favorite grocery shopping haunts. I was gone from shopping from 10am til 2pm. That was just crazy. Everywhere I went, it was busy. Crazy busy. I even had to go back to the grocery store because they overcharged me $13. I usually don't look at my receipt, but I keep a running estimate of what it should be as I load up the belt.
So yeah, the usual boring stuff. I did discover that I really like this new enviga green tea stuff, berry flavored. It was by the register, I was thirsty and I am a green tea addict, so I bought one to try out. It doesn't taste like green tea, but it's good. Judging from the price for a 6 pack, this will be my first and last. But it's good. They recommend you drink 3 a day. At around $7-8 a six pack, that just isn't in my budget. I'll stick to my Target brand green tea brewed at home. I'm cheap like that.
Guess I ought to finish unloading the groceries. I always unload the frozen/refrigerated stuff first. Then I quickly pack away all the new snacks. If the kids see them, they won't eat the snacks that are already in the drawer. They want the new stuff. Everything else is still sitting in the bags on my kitchen floor. Yeah, I better go take care of that.
Comments
Heh, sometimes I barely manage to get the frozen/cold stuff put away before I rush to check my email, etc.
And no, I am not an addict (snicker).
hanging my head in shame as i admit to the same
(hey. i totally rhymed there!!!)
and usually i shop after the kids are in bed, so the snacks don't even get put away right away hahahaha.
I'm so glad you guys had a great weekend. Some days, (like today), I'd give my right arm to have someone to give Nathan to for a while.
What did they over charge you for?
Sometimes I just dump all the bags on the floor and sit by them admiring all the new grocery items I've purchased :)
You know what green tea I love? You might try this...
Tazo China Green Tips (1bag) with Tazo Zen (1bag) brewed together hot or cold.
Starbucks sells Tazo and so does Target. Target has it for $3.95 a box.
Jamie - They overcharged me for a bag of frozen chicken breasts and charged me for lemons instead of limes. Grrrr. I have to pay more attention!
Kristen - I love the Tazo China Green Tips, but I don't like the Zen. I usually treat myself to a huge Tazo green tea from Starbucks while I'm shopping at Target. I'm too cheap to buy the Tazo for home. I drink 6+ cups a day, so I go with the 40 bags for $2.29 Target brand.
