This is a video I took of Steve practicing the song "Collide" that he's trying to learn. He hasn't played the acoustic guitar before, so cut him some slack. I just thought he was cute.
Wow, could my life be any busier? I went from a lazy summer to a crazy fall. Ok, I know it's not fall yet technically, but the kids starting school makes me feel like it is. Driving them back and forth to school really eats up a lot of my day (along with a lot of gas). Then there is the never ending laundry and other household chores. Victoria and Alex also have sports practice on Tuesday and Wednesday, so I just hang out on the school playground with the 3 younger kids while they are practicing. I am also back to working for my dad. With all the grandkids back to school, it's just my mom and me doing door hangers for his business. That not only takes some time, but it zaps my energy running up and down the sidewalks. Let's just say, my legs aren't very happy with me right now. I'm surprised they haven't just given out. (Yes, I admit it, I am in that bad of shape.) I certainly can't say I'm bored that's for sure.
Seriously, this is like the first time today I've had a chance to really read blogs. I've come in here once or twice, and clicked on some stuff only to be completely distracted by something else I have to do. Although, I haven't even really read blogs yet, and as soon as I finish typing this, I'm going back out to the dining room to oversee the completing of the homework. Trust me, homework tends to be a big ordeal in our house. If not monitored on a regular basis, the time would be used for twirling hair or staring off into space.
So yes, I'm done with my boring update to let you all know I'm alive and capable of more than just posting pictures. I hear squabbling coming from the direction of the dining room!
Here are the kids' first day of school pictures. They really like the new school.
Sophia loved the fun educational games that they played in her class. Who knew learning could be fun too?
Ashley loves her new teacher. She also loves the fact that there are only 4 kids in the 4th grade. The teacher has plenty of time to help her when she needs it.
So far, Josiah's big news was that everyone complimented his lunchbox. I was telling Steve that everyone liked his lunchbox and Josiah corrected me, "No, they complimented it." That's what I get for insisting on using big words all the time.
I have no idea why the 8th graders, Victoria and Alex didn't want me to follow them to their classroom to take pictures. Victoria is really excited about playing volleyball and getting to travel for games. She also likes that they give you time to work on homework in Study Hall. She doesn't mind the uniforms because everyone else is wearing the same thing, so to quote her, "You don't feel stupid."
Strangely enough, Alex called Study Hall "free time" and brought home some lovely origami he made while relaxing. He also brought home more homework than Victoria. Alex was impressed that everyone (students and teachers) were nice and friendly. He also likes that they have a Bible class.
In other news, to make up for my lack of Ugly Outfit Fridays lately, I opted for one today.....
Ok, not really. I personally liked this outfit. Steve, well, not so much. Hope everyone else had a good Monday. Now I think I'm ready for bed!
So tired, busy day, still helping with homework, can't stop eating.....real update later.
What do you have, what do you need and what do you want?
