How are you spending New Year's Eve?
So far, we've been playing SingStar. It's 1:49am and this party is just getting started! We have all day tomorrow too!
What's your favorite game to play?
Um, do I even need to answer this? Scrabulous! Although, Oregon Trail comes in a close second, but only when Kelly isn't stealing all my stuff and leaving me to starve to death.
I'm having a lot of fun with my new computer (whom I have named Oscar, just because). Yesterday, I installed iTunes and put our entire library on it. I burned myself a cd of a bunch of songs from the various mix cds Steve made me when we started dating. I hadn't really listened to "secular" music in almost 10 years, so I was a bit behind on music. (Don't ask.)
Anyway, while driving home from the store with Ashley and Alex and listening to my "new" cd, we were discussing how certain songs can bring you back to a particular time and place in your life.
"These songs remind of when I was dating your dad. It's like I can close my eyes and just be there. And like The Fray's album reminds me of last October when Mom-Mom died because it was the cd I listened to the most." I said.
Alex (13) pipes up like he totally gets what I'm trying to say, "Yeah, and like, I don't know why, but the word supper always makes me think of spaghetti."
Alrighty then. I was a good mom and didn't laugh til I told Steve later. Although, perhaps a good mom wouldn't blog about it.
What's the best book you read this year?
Thanks to a recommendation from Esther and her husband Damian, I picked up this book. Definitely the best book I read this year.
Nothing like getting a full night's sleep. I feel so much better today. No headache, although I always seem to wake up in a stage of achiness. I'm hoping that will go away, but I've been hoping that for the last year, so I'm thinking I can just chalk that up to getting older.
Last night was nice. I made a pot of spaghetti with meat sauce for dinner. Then after we had dinner we watched some tv with the kids. Steve made my webcam/camera thing on my computer work. Not that I plan on using it. I figure it will come in handy when he has to go away on business, but don't any of you other people think I'm going to let you see how dorky I really am.
After that, we took advantage of my new computer's HD screen and watched what Steve calls "The Hannahbanana version of The Office" aka the original BBC version of "The Office". I'm now in love with Netflix's "Watch Instantly" feature. I also really like the original. I'm surprised at how similar it is, but it's still really funny. Nice to have something else besides Scrubs to fill up this gap left by the writer's strike.
Today, I suppose I will get out of bed and do some things around the house. I suspect I may regret it tomorrow if I don't do some laundry today.
I was grabbing a couple of eggs out of the fridge this morning and dropped one right in front of the fridge. Nothing like cleaning up a raw egg. Although, I feel worse for the cricket that decided to venture out from underneath of the fridge at the very moment I dropped the egg. Yup, death by raw egg. I didn't feel so bad about having to clean up the egg after that.
