I don't have my glasses on and I can still see! I have in my trial pair of contacts. They feel fine so far. Although, it is weird being able to see my face without glasses on. The only time I can usually see myself is when I am all up close in the mirror putting on my makeup. Bonus, they were handing out free brownies at the doc's. Mmmm, nothing like a shot or two of air in your eye and a free brownie!
Anyway, onto other stuff, like the whole love letter thing. I walked out into the kitchen yesterday to see Victoria following Alex, both seventh graders, over to the trash can. He was holding a pile of folded up notebook paper. He announces, "These are all my notes from Bonnie." (Bonnie is the eighth grader he was crushing on earlier in the year. She called every day for a month.)
He opens the trash can. I was on the phone with Steve, so I tell him Alex has 48 letters from Bonnie that he is throwing away. Steve tells me to offer him $20 for them, but changes his mind. Steve realized that we could easily just pick them out of the trash later, lol. Alex wised up, and sat down in the fireplace room to rip them up one by one. He ripped one up when Steve told me to offer him $5. Alex quickly took me up on the offer. He just loves money, lol. Now I have a pile of middle school love letters that are address to "Baby" from "Honey" and say things like, "We need to pick a song" and "I love you more than more than more than more." Heh. Steve and I couldn't stop laughing. It was all so reminiscent of our middle school days.
I think we'll put them in a shoebox and save them as a wedding gift for his wife.
I made an appointment with the eye doctor for Tuesday. I'm tired of having to wear glasses all the time. If I don't want to wear them, I just have to be blind. So I'm going to get a pair of contacts again. Then I have options. Unless I accidentally throw out my glasses like I did a few years back. Anyway, my insurance covers contacts, and it's a new insurance year, so I'm going to go get some.
Steve and Victoria went to Lowe's to buy Christmas lights. The kids have been begging up to put up lights. We didn't last year. That was the first year in my ENTIRE life I didn't have Christmas lights on my house. I tried to make Steve feel guilty, but he didn't. Heh. I'll take pictures later of our dinky little house. It should look ok with lights on it. I'm such an underachiever in the garden, unlike that domestic diva who has that pretty little yard I covet so much. Overgrown bushes and dead flowers all over the place around here.
Yeah, we live in a little house. 7 people in 1800 square feet. Steve bought this place when it was just him and the two kids. Luckily it has 4 bedrooms and 2 baths. 4 of the poor kids actually have to share a room. I shared a room with my sister. It was a character building experience. Actually, it was probably more character building for her than me since I was ridiculously messy. So yeah, we are debating buying a house closer to Steve's work, but we like our small mortgage. We have the place almost looking like we want it. We like being able to do things, go places, buy the things we need and not feel stressed about money all the time. I'm just so afraid of being house poor. Although, it's a little depressing when you walk into the East Room of the White House and your daughter notices that you could plop your entire house down in it and still have room left over, lol.
Ok, so that was totally out of left field. Steve is home now and apparantly on the roof. Either that or we have a rather large infestation of fat raccoons. Guess I ought to be a good wife and see if he needs help or a diet pepsi or something.
What's the most drastic change you've ever made to your appearance?

In 2003, I went from a long haired brunette to a short haired blonde.
