Not sure how many of you have noticed, but Steve and I have a decent amount of family blogging here at Vox. I figured some of you might be interested in who is related and how.
Let's start off with my side of the family. First, we have my oldest sister, Nicole. She is married and a mom to 3 kids, including 2 teenagers. She's funny and a bit snarky, but in a good way. It took me a long time to become friends with her. There was no love lost between us when we were growing up. Eventually, I was able to forgive her for stealing my bedroom while I was at a roller skating party and for giving me the nickname, "Afro-Fungus" when I got my first perm (in her defense, it was a bad bad perm). Now, she isn't just my sister, she's my friend.
My other sister, the middle sister, Marlen, also blogs. She is also married, to Rick, my wonderful brother in law. Together, they have 5 kids like Steve and I. Marlen and I always got along, when she wasn't hanging out with Nicole. She would play barbies with me when Nicole wasn't looking. She let me climb into bed with her when it stormed at night and I was too scared to sleep alone. She drove me around until she got tired of it and forced me to get my license at the age of 20. I'm very blessed to not only have another sister, but also another friend. As for my brother in law, Rick, he's a funny guy, good cook, and has a heart of gold. I'm glad my sister found him or he found my sister, whatever the case was.
On Steve's side, we convinced his younger brother, Gary to start blogging first. Gary is a master story teller. He is also a whiz at Microsoft Paint. Seriously, I don't think he has photoshop. I'm pretty sure he does all that photo wizardy on good old Paint. I'm sure he'll correct me if I'm wrong. Anyway, Gary is one of the nicest guys I have ever met.
Actually, Steve and his brothers are all extraordinary men. That is all thanks to the godly upbringing of this lady, Grandma-P. I know her as Mrs. P. She not only gave birth to four wonderful boys, she's also funny and sweet. I always feel bad for people that complain about their in laws. I have no complaints at all.
Speaking of the wonderful boys Mrs. P. raised, there is one more here on Vox. Steve's youngest brother, Rob also blogs. He has the same great sense of humor that Steve, Gary, and Mrs. P. have. I feel like a broken record, but he's a really genuinely nice guy too. Rob has another blog of his own, but he comes and plays here at Vox sometimes too. Despite Rob's young age, he is very knowledgeable in the Bible. I love sitting under his teaching at church, or listening to him lead our worship in song.
So there you go, that's my Vox family tree.....for now.
Tomorrow is Ugly Outfit Friday! I would prefer to not be the only one participating this week. I would feel much better grocery shopping and perusing the aisles of Target knowing that I am not the only one getting funny looks and giggles behind my back. Seriously, the day we came back from London, I got a "Look at what she's wearing!" followed by some hearty laughs while walking out of JFK airport.
In other local news, Grandma-P, Gary, Rick and Rob are having a good ole time with photoshop and Steve's pictures from his blog. Go take a look if you need a laugh! I just don't have anything really interesting to say here right now, kinda hit a dry spell as far as blogging. But they are all on a roll!
Seems my brother in law, Rick is getting in on this blogging thing. Steve's youngest brother, Rob, also blogs here on Vox. I didn't mention either of them the other day and they voiced that they were feeling a bit left out. They are both funny guys too. If only Rob blogged a bit more regularly. He blogs so infrequently, you would think he has a life or something.
So, that's all I have to say. I need to go back out and help Steve with the yardwork. I think I'm going to get a job so I can hire a gardener.
